The Santa Barbara Chapel

The Santa Barbara Chapel is located overlooking the panorama just above the town of La Valle (Alta Badia) and can be reached by crossing the meditative trail. There are historical documents that declare that the Chapel was built in 1491 in honour of Saint Barbara, the protector of miners.

The Crucifixion, which is portrayed on the outside wall of the building, certainly has high historical and artistic value, as well as the many other paintings inside.

The trail that leads to the Chapel was constructed in 2006 and is made up of five stations. Each station has its own significance, which is closely related to the stages of life: birth, infancy, youth, adulthood, and old age. The trail was justly given the name "Memento Vivere" (remember to live).
