Badia many things to see!
Badia (or in German Abtei) rises to an average altitude of 1,315 meters above sea level and is situated nearby two nature parks: the Puez-Odle and the Fanes Senes Braies. Two wonderful suburbs belong to Badia:
Pedraces
Pedraces is home to Badia's municipal building and is distinguished by its unique position at the foot of the Puez-Odle nature park. Don't miss the Sompunt Lake, which is just a short distance away. This popular destination for excursions can be reached both by foot and by bicycle.
San Leonardo
San Leonardo in Badia is located to the foot of the Sasso Santa Croce and it is home to one of the most beautiful churches in South Tyrol, which is dedicated to its namesake saint. It was built between 1776 and 1778 on top of an older medieval edifice that was consecrated in 1347. This village is also known as the birthplace of Saint Giuseppe Freinademetz, one of the most venerated saints in Alta Badia.
